Yggdrasil Records in it's essence, is the sound of Scandinavian psychedelic forest trance. Our particular sound has been developed through years upon years of dancing to music out in the wild nature among trees, mountains, lakes and hills, from the mystery of night to the magic of light. Events happening deep in the forests with this kind of music has put birth to the term "forest trance", a fairly new psytrance sub-genre, which has influenced the scene world wide. We strive to release music and sounds not produced before, from artists that dare make new stuff with a different angle to the whole idea of psychedelic trance. It's sort of a reaction to all the mainstream psytrance released these days. Our particular forest trance is wild, alive, evolving, progressive and challenging. The soundscapes combines natural sounds like dry wood of trees moving slowly in the wind, birds singing as the sun rises, rivers and waterfalls forever flowing and drops of water in underground caves with pure and dirty new electronic out-of-this-world waveforms. Music made for the body to dance to as well as the mind to travel in.

The word Yggdrasil is taken from the old religion and mythology of our ancestors living in Northern Europe before, during and after the so called "Viking age". It is the name of the World Tree, a tree connecting all the different dimensions.
